Hot tapping, or underpressure tapping, is the method of connecting to existing pipe or pressure vessels without the interruption of operation or emptying that section of pipe or vessel. This means that a pipe or tank can continue to be in on-line whilst maintenance or modifications are being executed. 

Hot tapping is also the first step in line stopping (flowstopping), where a hole-saw cutter is used to make an opening in the main, so a line plugging head can be inserted into the pipe. 

Our machines can be made for pipe sizes from 1″ (25mm) – 48″ (1200mm) and bigger upon application with pressure up to 1,500 psi and can be used in all sectors of the industry including water, HVAC, petrochemical, gas and oil for both metal pipes as well as HDPE.
